Pelsall
At the local Carnival held on August 6, the Staff secured second prize for an advertising tableau, and first prize for the best decorated horse. Last year the staff made a framework to fit on a dray and gained two prizes, and as the effect was good, Mr. J.F. Bradford (Divl. Commercial Supt.) had the framework made more substantial and it is now being used for similar purposes up and down the country. The turn-out this year was more attractive and considerable time had been put in by the staff in the effort. Mr. S. Roberts (DGM), Wolverhampton, supplied a fine horse, and thanks to Carter Brain, Walsall, for the splendid way he decorated the animal. The prize money, less expenses, has been handed over to the local Sports and Social Committee to help their good work, which main object is to assist long-sickness cases, and give the pensioners a little enjoyment annually.

Chasewater Railway does own a railway box van in the form of a horse-drawn Box Wagon, painted maroon. Overall size 10ft x 7ft x 5ft, at present on loan at Shugborough.
