  1. I am writing a book on Harper Brothers of Heath Hayes, and attempting to find details of Lady Bowering Hanbury.

    Thank you Bryan.

    Hi,
Just a quick note, I live at 286 Cannock Road, Heath Hayes which I believe was Felix Harpers House when it was built after marrying Ivy Tennant from the bakers. 288 has recently been demolished which belonged to His sister but 284 his brothers house still stands and is owned by John Weldon a well known business man and supporter of Heath Hayes football club.

Interestingly when 288 was demolished a couple of railway lines were found under the property, I guess to help the foundations.

All the best with your work!!

    • Hi Malcolm, Thanks for your comment – I always like local history bits and pieces. I had a great uncle whose property backed onto Cannock Road – I wonder if he had any railway lines??
