1. Travelling by Car to Brownhills West Station

The Railway’s headquarters at Brownhills West Station are situated in Chasewater Country Park, Brownhills, near Walsall.

The postal address is: Chasewater Railway, Chasewater Country Park, Brownhills West Station, Pool Lane (Off the A5), Burntwood, Staffs WS8 7NL. Telephone: 01543 452623.

The main entrance to the park is Pool Lane, a slip road leading off the southbound A5 (Watling Street) just south of its junction with the A452 (Chester Road). Brown tourism direction signs are provided on the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A5 in the vicinity of the park.

If travelling along the A452 (Chester Road) from Walsall/Brownhills, turn right on to the southbound A5 at the “Rising Sun” Island and follow the brown tourism direction signs on the A5.

Following the signs, turn left into the park immediately after passing over the M6 Toll Road. Continue through the park until reaching Brownhills West Station.

Please note: when inputting the post code, certain Sat Nav systems will direct you via the wrong end of Pool Road (Chasetown side). Vehicle Access to Brownhills West Station is only available via the A5 end of Pool Road; look out for the brown tourist steam engine signs.
2. Travelling by Bus to Brownhills West Station

Most of the suitable bus services terminate at Brownhills West (Rising Sun Island), which is the junction of the A5 (Watling Street) and the A452 (Chester Road). The “Crown” Public House is also located at the Island.

Alight at the Rising Sun Island. Proceed along Wilkin Road (a minor road leading directly off the Island, on the side nearer to the Crown PH). At the end of Wilkin Road, turn left into Hednesford Road.

Cross to the opposite pavement and almost immediately follow a new footpath, alongside Poole Crescent, into Chasewater Country Park. This footpath crosses over the new M6 Toll Road and the station complex is clearly evident from the footbridge, on the left hand side. Walking time approx. 15 minutes.

Please note: On Arriva services 33 & 33A indicated » below, alight at Poole Crescent (near the junction of Hednesford Road/Wilkin Road). The footpath into Chasewater Country Park runs alongside Poole Crescent – see preceding paragraph. Walking time approx. 10 mins
3. Bus Services to Brownhills West

4. Travelling by Car to Chasewater Heaths Station

5. Travelling by Bus to Chasewater Heaths Station

Visitors from Lichfield, Hednesford and Cannock travelling on Sundays by public transport are invited to consider using Chasewater Heaths Station, as there are no convenient Sunday bus services to Brownhills West Station from these locations.

Arriva Service 33A: Alight at Sankeys Corner (Burntwood Library) and proceed along High Street (alongside the Library). At the traffic island, bear right along A5190 Milestone Way (Burntwood Bypass). Continue along Milestone Way; Chasewater Heaths Station is located directly ahead at the second island. Brown tourism direction signs for Chasewater are provided on A5190. Walking time approx. 15 minutes.
