Published on Monday, 10th November 2014
There’s no reason not to enjoy the beautiful game with walking football sessions for older people launching soon at Burntwood Leisure Centre.
Walking football is kicking off at Burntwood Leisure Centre on Tuesday 18 November from 12 noon to 1pm with a free taster session.
Led by a qualified FA football coach, participants will find out how to play the game that is becoming popular with seniors.
Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks, said: “We are pleased to be launching walking football at Burntwood Leisure Centre. It’s a great opportunity for older people to meet others, stay active, and to play their favourite game at a more moderate pace.”
Sessions after the introductory free taster on Tuesday 18 November will take place on Tuesdays from 12noon to 1pm and will cost £2.50 each.
There is no need to book ahead, simply turn up at Burntwood Leisure Centre’s synthetic football pitch and get in to it!
