Three leisure centres in Lichfield District are offering children the chance to play football for just £1 per player during the weekends of the World Cup.
Burntwood, Friary Grange and King Edward VI leisure centres have caught ‘World Cup Fever’ and are inviting children to play football for £1 over the weekends of the tournament, which runs from 12 June to 13 July 2014.
Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure & Parks, said: “Excitement is mounting in the run up to the World Cup, and we know there are plenty of young players across the district who will want to join in the football fever that’s set to spread across the nation. This offer is a fantastic opportunity for children to have a kick about on any of our three leisure centres’ synthetic pitches over the weekends of the World Cup for a reduced price.”
The World Cup Fever promotion is running on the weekends during the World Cup, from 9am to 4.30pm. It is open to anyone under 18 years of age and is subject to availability.
The dates the offer is running are: 14 & 15 June, 21 & 22 June, 28 & 29 June, 5 & 6 July, 12 & 13 July.
