Chasewater Railway Gala
This Coming Weekend – September 7th & 8th
Including guest engine ‘Walkden’ from the
Ribble Steam Railway
The locomotive is a War Department 0-6-0ST built by Hunslet in 1944, now named Walkden. It was shipped to France, but after the war was used in the Netherlands until the late 1970s. It was rebuilt using components salvaged from the NCB site at Walkden. (See Ribble Steam Railway Exhibits Guide)
The locomotive is running round its train at the exchange loops, where the bitumen trains are handed over to and from the Ribble Steam Railway. © Copyright Ian Taylor and licensed for reuse under this Creative Commons Licence.
