Due to vehicle impact damage to the parapets of the bridge it has become unsafe for use by vehicles. The navigation will remain open during the emergency repair works but boats may experience some delays of up to 30 minutes at times while the repairs are carried out. The towpath will be diverted from under the bridge to cross the carriageway for the duration of the works which are expected to last for four weeks.
Both parapet walls to this bridge have suffered continual vehicular impact damage. This damage is such that the carriageway above has had to be closed to traffic to allow repair works to both parapet walls.
Please follow instructions issued by the site team boats. Boaters may be required to wait for short periods of up to 30 minutes while critical operations are carried out.
British Waterways apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The towpath is also closed
