Sunday July 12th saw the annual Chasewater Model Railway Show in the Heritage Centre. A good number of layouts and traders, and when I last heard, over 400 visitors. Everyone that I saw seemed to have enjoyed themselves – I know that the people in the museum certainly did! The West Bromwich Railway Model members again brought their rolling stock to run on our small layout – the same group who came last Christmas and they’re threatening to come again this year! At least we’ve got 4 or 5 months to get ready for it!
Congratulations to John, Oz and everyone who helped organise the event, and the model railway groups from all over the midlands. Once it got started it went very smoothly as far as I could see, and with the Peckett No. 2000 on duty and running well outside, and fair weather all day it was a really good day, well in keeping with the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Chasewater Railway.
