Welcome to Chasewaterstuff’s Railway & Canal Blog
This years regular service trains ends on Sunday 2nd with a diesel hauled service.
However, trains are also running on Sunday 9th & 16th with the rare opportunity to travel along the line in the ‘Shark’ Brake Van and the vintage riding van as the regular coaches take a well deserved short break for routine maintenance. (Winter timetable – First train 11am then 12:15,13:30 and the last train leaves Brownhills West station at 14:45). The fire will be lit in the sidings tea room where a range of refreshments awaits and the gift & model shop will be open. The Santa Specials in December are booking fast so why not get your tickets while you are there.
(Please note as these vehicles were designed and built with narrow access doors they may not be accessible to everyone and the brake van is open-sided above waist height at either end so please keep an extra close eye on children).
You can book tickets on 01543 452623 from September the 24th or you can request more details by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Every year Santa visits Chasewater Railway during December. His Grotto is located in the Heritage Centre at Brownhills West Railway Station where he invites you to come along and see him. Why not come along and join in the fun and experience the festive atmosphere on the Colliery Line your local historic heritage railway? Enjoy a ride through the beautiful Chasewater Country Park on the train hauled by one of our vintage steam engines and then visit Santa in his grotto which his elves have built especially for you.
There will be a super bag of age-appropriate wrapped presents for each child and seasonal refreshments for everyone, sweets and a drink for the children whilst the adults can join us for tea, coffee, sherry or a warming ginger wine to accompany a mince pie.
